Shooting for me!

LOL I hit the publish button after only posting the title to this post.
I have never dealt with studio lighting before. I have been using natural light and flash till this point.
I had bought a light in summer and tucked it away for a rainy day or a snowy day more like it.
I finally bought a stand and other accessories for it on New Years Eve and finally tried it out in the last couple of weeks. My little girl Katie has been my model for these practices.
So here some of the test shots from my new light.



And one of little Matthew the baby boy in the house who has been potty training this week and is doing Awesome!!
We went out last Friday and bought him a pooh bear potty seat for the big toilet and some Cars underwear and he has been doing great!!
So proud of you Matthew!!

Updates on the Wedding Site

I sat down today and updated the wedding site. There is a featured engagement session on there as well as some updates on the details section and a lot of images added to the Trash the Dress section.
Sit down on this cold evening with some hot cocoa and enjoy looking around!

Some fun for a cold winter day!!

Well it is a day off from school and mom is going a little nutty being stuck at home in the bitter cold.
I was listening to a local station and heard the DJ talking about bubble wrap lol.
That is one of the most exciting things about getting a package isn't it?
I kind of hog it and hide it from the kids so I can get the pleasure of popping all the bubbles.
Sheepishly I will hand it over to one of them when there are only a few left to pop.
Well he mentioned this site online where you can virtually pop to your hearts content.

The Wedding Books have arrived!!

The books that I had ordered for the wedding show are here!!
I am extremely impressed!!
Being that I seem to have problems with perfectionism and wanting to have everything perfect that means these are awesome!!
I have not figured out how much they will cost but I do know that I want to have a wedding package that includes them as well as sell them on the side.
This one that is being shown in this post is the one that I designed.
It was an 8 x 12 landscape book.
Here are some of the images of it

It came with beautiful thick pages. I chose the textured finish for this book.


It has a nice leather side and I chose the acrylic finish cover





It comes wrapped in a black cloth to protect the finish


It opens and lays flat with no interruption in the image straight through the book





And clarity is very important to me and the images stayed as sharp as when I sent them in. Super impressed!!

I debated mentioning that Forever Captured Photography has joined the ranks of Facebook but then I heard a couple of Radio Stations announcing their groups and so I thought why not?

Bridal Spectacular The after effects!!

Well this was my first experience with a Bridal Show and I think it was a great success.
I was so tired when I got home lol.. I am still tired today and my stuff from the booth is all over my living room.
I met some really fantastic, enthusiastic excited brides.
As a bride years ago and living in a small town I had never heard of a bridal show so never got to have the happy experience of attending one.
Some seemed quited experienced bringing name labels for the draw prizes.
I still need to contact my lucky bride that she won.
Adrienne Enns was the winner of my Door Prize which is a Trash The Dress session along with an 8x10.
I have decided that for all the brides that were at the show and who are stopping in on my blog now I am going to offer to all those that book their Trash The Dress Session for $ 125.00 I am going to include a complimentary mounted and laminated 8x10 image from the session. You will get to choose your favorite image from the session to have as a keepsake.
I will also have a Trash The Dress Deluxe Package.
The Deluxe Package will be $ 400.00
This pakage includes the session
a leather album with 30 images for you to choose to put in it
a musical slideshow of the session

It was an exciting time yesterday and I want to make a shout out to the awesome photographers I spoke with yesterday. I hope that some great friendships can develop for us as well.
Now here is the image of my booth.


I had ordered some books from a company in Italy for the bridal show and I got the tracking information that it was sent out on the 10th. That was Thursday...
I thought oh well I guess I will see them in a couple of weeks. I started tracking it on Saturday night and it is somewhere in Saskatoon already!!!! Wow I thought, but UPS is not open on Saturday or Sunday. I did have a mind to go to the airport and ask if I go digging for it lol but decided better not get arrested when I needed to be at the show lol.
I told everyone you watch it is going to arrive on Monday.Yup my doorbell rang as I am writing this. It is here!!! It has arrived!!! I am so excited to see it but as I was hooting and hollering about it I thought hmmm I don't know whether to shout from the rooftops or to sit down and cry that it didn't make it in time. I told the UPS guy I knew it would arrive today and he said oh thats a good thing and then I said but I needed it yesterday. Ah well I am so excited about it so that prevails.
I can now bring it along when I meet brides and they will get a chance to peek at it.
I will also post some images of it on here in the next bit.
I may drop off mini copies around the city and you may get a peek somewhere at it.

Bridal Spectacular!

On Sunday which is tomorrow from 1-5 pm at TCU place is the Bridal Spectacular and I am going to be a part of it.
It is my first wedding show and I must admit I am a bit nervous.
I hope to see a lot of brides tomorrow and give them a peek at my work.
There are so many services to offer at this show and I got to peek at some of the booths tonight and they look fantastic!! Its going to be a lot of fun!

New Store in Saskatoon for Mommies

There is a new store in town for mommies and little ones. It is called A Soft Landing and is located at 1814 B Lorne Avenue.
This store specializes in organic wear for babies. They have adorable hats, cuddly blankets and cute diapers and much much more to offer to the mom who is thinking about the enviroment.

Trash The Dress Winter Edition

WE could not ask for more beautiful weather yesterday for a winter day.
Hard to beleive it is January right now way up here in Canada!! LOL
Here is my brave bride! We had a blast lots of laughter, lots of looks and lots of ideas!
We started in the tub... after all every bride needs to be clean lol..


And then we had one last look up the stairs before it was time to go..

Trash the Dress on Inside Edition tonight

If anyone is curious about Trash The Dress there is a clip on it on Inside Edition tonight.
Now I did see the preview and some of it looks kind of scary lol as the paint stained dress went by I kind of cringed.
I am promoting Trash the Dress to the nines and want to let women know about this trend but I want to be clear that Destroying your dress is not my intention at all.
I do not want to squirt mustard on it I don't want to spray paint it.
I want to create Artistic and Fun images that there simply isn't time for on your wedding day.
I am working on a sneak peek right now that we did yesterday.
Yes one brave bride stood up to the plate when I made the calling.
She will now recieve a leather album with 30 images from our session and a mounted and laminated 8x10.
She will also have fun memories of laughter and a conversation piece to talk about..

Merry Christmas Baby!!

This sweet little girl made her debut on Christmas morning!! She came into the world early and mom,dad and babe were home before noon to open gifts with her big sisters.
How sweet is that?
There were so many awesome shots from our session yesterday it was so hard to choose for the sneak peek. I have a feeling a few more may be added after lol.
