I was sitting here editing a wedding listening to the end credits of a movie of the song playing during it and thought
I always seem to love the songs that play at the end of the movie as the credits are rolling
When a train goes by and I am at the crossing stopped you will see my windows rolled down as I listen to the clanging bells and the roar of the train going by..
I love the noise of the fighter jets as they fly by at the airshow too...
I have a little secret stash of peanuts or m&m's at the desk while I edit...
I want every shot to be The Shot.
I am a perfectionist

Christmas Around The Tree

When I arrived mom had a bunch of adorable ideas for family pictures.
I know that all they want is that one special image but I think I captured a few.
Singing Rudolf The Red Nose Rain Deer helped this session to run pretty smoothly.
After we were done the children went off to play. I was so impressed with their good and quiet behavior! Much quieter than our house. LOL

This little peanut was so tiny. I kept remarking on it and asked how much she weighed only to discover that once apon a time my 14 yr old weighed less than her when he was born. Unbeleivable.
I am so happy they captured these moments of her as coming from one who knows how quickly you forget how tiny they really were..
One of daddy's girl and one in the basket mom had there. As soon as I got back into the city I went racing to the stores and proceeded to buy 2 new baskets lol...

Another newborn has come back for their session sitting up.They grow so fast!!
I am offering to my newborns two more sessions throughout the first year for half price of the regular session fee.

One of my Sweet Girl

This is one image taken that day when I took all my kids out one at a time a couple of months ago.
There is some specialness to this image.
The little black purse in her hand?? That is mine from when I was a little girl. I am pretty sure I got it when I was younger than she is in this picture.
I waited through each of my pregnancies to find out if this was my girl to give it too. Well finally with my 4th one it was a girl!!
We actually tried for a little sister after her and she got a sweetie of a little brother instead.
At first I was a little sad that she wouldnt have a little sister to play with but then I thought well now I don't have to worry about who will get what if there were two little girls.
She is definately the princess of the family!!

Today took me out of town to visit in Martensville a cute set of twin girls..
These little ones were a bit older than my typical newborn sessions but with patient and perseverence look what we came up with! Wonderful sweetness and some that are sure to make anyone smile!!

One Of The Boys

This is one of my boys. The middle child.
I would have to say this is my quietest and shyest of all my kids. He is such a neat little guy but he hates the camera...
We can have a great conversation with awesome smiles and relaxed face but as soon as the camera goes to my eye he furrows his brow,wrinkles his forehead and squints his eyes and starts to breath funny. Poor lil guy. So I don't torture him with a photo session much anymore. But grandma is coming in a couple of weeks and wants new pictures of the grandchildren. So over a month ago I took each one out one at at time and took their portraits and tucked them away in a folder. But I need to get at least one done of each of them for grandma's visit.
So here is the first one I took out. Isn't he a sweetie?

Getting Ready for Christmas

This little one was awake and awake and awake till the magic hands of grandpa came back from his walk and put her to sleep. Whenever we wanted to change positions we called on Grandpa as she is putty in his hands.

From Way Up North

This family travelled all the way from close to Flin Flon for a wedding this wknd.
Mom also happens to be a good photographer friend of mine. So she added pressure onto me and asked me to do family pics lol.
So I hope that when she sees them she is really really happy lol...
The second image was a vision that mom had for a fun shot. Well the kids wanted nothing to do with it..
So when we were doing some couple shots they were doing exactly what she wanted so I moved the kids over to them and said just to wait there as we might need them for pics yet after. Then they started up again and snap snap snap whammo got the shot lol

As I waited in the lobby area for the couple to come down to do their engagement session I saw a little girl take her mom upstairs to peek around. She came back down and had to come get her daddy. After all their were princesses upstairs that he just had to see.

The party was filled with dancing and food and then afterwards gifts.

Some women think that they would never do a Trash The Dress session. I am excited whenever one of my brides decides to throw caution to the wind and goes for it...
As I have mentioned before it is not at all about Trashing the Dress. It is about carefree fun and creativity joined together for some wonderful images!
This bride decided to go for it and then it was raining and raining and raining so we did all her shots inside for now and it will be continued when it isn't raining...

This was the sky as I was heading in for the reception. A complete view of how the day was for weather. Rain and sun and stormy.

If you ask any of my 2008 brides where I have already shot their weddings they will all attest to the fact that I promised them it would NOT rain on their wedding day.
I had a great record going with it as well but wedding number 10 well it came to an end.IT not only rained but it even hailed a short bit!
I felt so bad for this couple that I didn't keep my word. But I am not God and I do not control the weather so what can I do...
They still had a beautiful ceremony and got gorgeous pictures regardless.
A lot of things changed that day with rain being there I also went to a location I vowed I never would. It wasn't too bad lol and I survived.
Anyways back to their beautiful day and their sneak peek!! Hope you guys enjoyed your time away!!

Windy In Waskesieu

Last weekend took me out to Waskesieu for a very romantic wedding. Adoration beamed from the groom's eyes for his beloved all weekend.
The wind on Saturday was mean and cold but could not dampen the spirits of this group in the least.
I didn't get the beach shots I imagined but we got some gorgeous ones regardless.
It was a weekend of revelations and eye openers for me as a person.
I learnt a lot this wknd and one day may share about it here.

And these great aunties may look innocent but there were some warnings put out about them. I got the honor to sit with them at the reception and I must say it was the best seat in the house..
I had a hoot with them.

A Perfect Day

The day began at 8 am with an apple juice and a smile.
What is more pampering than having someone work on your hair and makeup at the same time while I the photographer or probably what felt like paparazzi capturing every second of it lol...
The formals started around the hot noon sun but the bonus to that is that there wasnt a line up at any location with other weddings..
This sneak peek is not finished but I did want to get a few up before they left on their honeymoon.. Have a fun time guys!!
This couple along with their wedding party were awesome to work with willing to do any crazy idea.
Also the food was so awesome. I think the best so far this summer!!!

On a Stormy Day Beauty Shines Through

It was a dark dark sky as I headed out of town. I even called DH to see if any storm warnings had been texted to him and he said no. So off to the community of Hanley I drove to meet this precious little girl sleeping so nicely when I arrived.
Her room was so nicely decorated as I looked around taking inventory of the wonderful ideas to go home with to decorate my own girl's room with.
Here are a couple to peek at from my visit with her. I did learn that she loves to be cuddled in blankets of warmth and don't you dare take them away from her lol.

Forestry Farm Wedding

This was my first experience with a wedding at the Forestry Farm..
The lighting was definately a challenge but the love shone through and the warmth of family and friends was all around.
A lot of folks travelled in from all over the world to see this couple unite. The bride's family all the way from England.
This was such a nice wedding in that I was given free reign to photograph the ceremony in any way I pleased. This is the first time I was able to get right up for the exchange of rings. Very nice!

Last night took me out to the Hague area to get a taste of country life.
These boys showed me this is the life for kids with the wide open spaces and clean air to breath.
I enjoyed watching the boys goof around as it reminded me of my own kids. You could definately tell there is a strong bond of love between all these boys.

Saturday was the scene for another wedding in another part of town.Sun was out the heat was on and the love was shining!

This was I would say the best party after the wedding I have ever seen. The dance floor was always full and everyone was there to have fun!

This family lives across the world in England. Being the funny girl that I am of course had to ask if they had ever seen the Queen. The mom told me they see the carriage quite frequently with the Queen in it. I was just in awe saying WOW like a starstruck fan lol.

My family was camping just 30 mins away where it was raining all afternoon.

Last Night...

With the weather being so unpredictable lately we didn't know if this session would happen.
The sun appeared and on with the show...
As I was waiting and looking around at the people in tank tops and the guys in no shirts I got a little worried oh no I forgot to tell them how to dress but when they showed up I got excited! My first engagement session with a dress!!
I went out of my comfort zone and used some of my lens that I don't exactly get along with yet and had a lot of fun!
So here are a few sneak peeks, it was so hard to choose what to show as there were so many awesome shots!
You guys did awesome!!!

A lot of the images taken last night were influenced by a book of Kisses and one image was of a guy leaving on a bus and his gal holding on tight kissing goodbye.
Well on our search for a bus we saw a fellow get into this particular bus down by the river. I knocked on the door showed him the picture and asked if we could use his steps, he said sure. After we asked where he was from and what brought him to Saskatoon. LOL he said from Nashville and the Kid Rock concert that he was a part of is what brought him in.... Who knew!!

On the way home from the wedding last weekend I stopped in a small town to shoot a couple of boys.
It was so refreshing to see boys still being boys instead of being in such a hurry to grow up.
Life goes by so quick as it is it is nice to just sit back and embrace it once and awhile.
It also really made me contemplate small town living but I just think I am a city girl at heart but I wish my kids could have a small town childhood..
Thanks guys for being awesome sports and showing me around your town!

A Love So Overwhelming

What a wonderful wknd! Beautiful skies and lots of entertainment. From the night before with songs around the fire to the morning of with a fishing derby lots of fun,laughs and love!
Tears of joy, lots of hugs and love was in the air all around. You couldn't help but drive away with a smile and even a little tear of joy!
The day as I mentioned started with a fishing derby and ended with a beautiful outdoor wedding and a sunset reception. The dance was timed right down to the sunset where the sun when behind the clouds..

I will be going out of town this evng to prepare for a Fish & Hitch Wedding Wknd.
After I get back we will be moving to a new place so if you don't hear from me right aways please be patient as we will only be getting new hookup on July 5th.

We were out in the flowers trying to take portraits and Mr Bee kept getting in the way so we went to other locations around the yard and still got some beautiful images of a pretty princess who is soon going to be a big sister!! How exciting!

A part of life ends and a new one begins...
A very exciting time is beginning in just a few short days as this young lady heads across the world on a whole new adventure.
Tonight though it is time to kick up your feet relax and enjoy it all.
It stopped raining for a bit so we could get a couple of images outside. I was so glad!!

I just had to share one more image from the wedding on Saturday.
I remember going down these steps before the wedding and looking at it and realizing no it won't work for my vision.
Now after the wedding it was a whole new ballgame.
So I start to set them up and they pointed at the tree and said it won't work.Well with a slight bending of the branch voila...
Aren't you glad I insisted it will work?
The lighting that fell on her was simply divine!!!

Yesterday was the most perfect day for a wedding. The sun was shining the winds were calm and it was time to get married!!
The bride was unbeleivably calm and ready for the day to begin!
I drove out to Wakaw with the tunes cranked mentally preparing myself for the day as well.
Sun as photographers know is not our best friend. But sometimes you just have to embrace the sun and go with the flow!
It was a fun day and a lot of great moments to go with it.
I really have to get some sleep now so I may add some more to the sneak peek later.

This session took me out to the beautiful countryside by Wanaskewin to these little guys Grandpa's place!
I was in awe of the gorgeous surroundings!
I also found out how out of shape I really am climbing back up the hill after taking a walk down to the river. LOL

Raindrops were Falling on Our Heads

The rain was dropping and the wind was blowing!
I am so happy that we stuck it out and did the quickest session ever!
Driving to our location the drops started falling.The closer I got the more there were.
This happy couple were good sports and we quickly worked. The little one that is coming is going to be blessed with the most loving parents. You could feel the love for the little one all around!!

A Lifetime of Love

They met as kids and played and rode bikes together. Hung around the same circles through school but waited till school was done to start the romance of a lifetime.
A perfect match I would say!
Yesterday morning rain threatened but it was a now or never situation and on we went.
Saskatoon has a special meaning to this couple as this is where they got engaged.
Hope you had a safe trip home guys and see you in Waskesieu!

Moments Like This

Last night was cloudy.Too cloudy lol. So we worked with the lighting we had and had fun while we did.
This couple was so easy going and let me do crazy experiments and just play!
It was kind of funny in the middle of our session a mommy duck and her brood of ducklings came along to waddle their way into the river.They had to make a big jump down and cross the sidewalk to get there. A crowd coaxing them along and all was well and everyone made it and on with our session we went~

Miracles.... Do you believe?

I have always believed in miracles. And I got to be with two of them last night.
Mom was told she would never have babies but got doubly blessed in less than a year.
The littlest one was born very early and spent some time at the hospital before coming home. It isn't even his due date yet for another 4 wks...WOW!!!
You would never know that he is premature as he is a big little guy!!
No parents deserve these little guys more than these ones. Patience and love flowed in this house and a smile comes to my face whenever I think about them..
You guys were awesome and it was great to meet with you and work with you!

Strange man on the side of the road, trail closed, chased by a dog and to end the evng I lost my keys when we were out in the country... I had already called hubby to come rescue us when I finally found the keys sitting on my windshield wipers.
This sweet couple met in England as teachers at a school. Out for the evng her friend sent her over to talk to him so she could talk to another guy. They hit it off and now she has moved all the way to Canada to be with him. Sweet love and a sweet couple!

A Love Like No Other

The love a mother has for her child is like no other.
" I look at him and I wonder what I was doing before" and " I can't talk about how happy I am or I might cry" These are the words of this new mommy and happy indeed is she!!
A beautiful boy came into this world just a few short days ago and her whole world has now changed for the better.
" I am so Blessed "
Yes she is!! A beautiful family has she!!
This little man had some trouble getting to settle and sleep but patience persevered!!

The Little Things

How did you spend your long weekend.
I had a couple of sessions and then relaxed the rest of the weekend.
We had contemplated going camping but called a campground Saturday afternoon and was told there were only 15 spots left and it was first come first served.
Well I wasn't going to waste gas driving out and risking being turned away. So I started calling hotels in the city as that is more my style of camping anyways lol.
But they were all booked too...hmmm
So Saturday evng we had a weenie roast in the backyard and a sleepover in the living room.
Sunday we went to a hotel in the city and had a blast.
I didn't even know this hotel existed in the city.

First we had supper at home and then off we went to the motel.
The kids and hubby went to the pool while mom hid by the table lol. But as soon as the pool cleared out came the kid in me and I swam around like a fish with the kids.
Then it was time to go back to the room and out came the buffet of junk food. This "diet" I am on is not going so well lol. I love my junk food a tad too much...
Oh well it was all in the spirit of fun!!

Newborn Reshoot

One thing I definately do if things aren't right the first time is come back to make sure they are right the next time!
The lighting didn't work out well the first time we did the mom and babe shots so I came back to make it right and right it is! Beautiful captures of mom and babe!!
Also it was too sunny last time to do the front step shot but the conditions were perfect this time around!
Moving day was just weeks before the little one arrived so it is an added touch to have a brand new baby on the brand new steps!

Sunset Sweetness

There is nothing like the sweet light at sunset!
Add a perfect family into the mix and you can't go wrong.
Now the night before this session I took a few of my kids down to the same location to check out the lighting and there was no sweetness about it lol!
It truly is tough to get more than one child looking at the camera at the same time and everyone looking good but when you try to do this with your own kids look out!!
I was so happy with these kids as they were total sweethearts and listened and were so helpful throughout!
Thanks guys! Did you get your ice cream after??

Promises of Love

As I drove to meet them it was clouding over and I thought YES!!
Cloud is a photographer's dream condition for portraits. But the sun found its way back and with the golden sunset we set out to do their engagement session.
It was a warm evening mixed with a cool breeze.But with each other to keep warm the evening set off in romantic fashion.
This couple will be my first wedding of 2008!
We managed to get to a couple of locations and worked against the sunset to get these beautiful images!
It's funny when you are at home inside the sunset seems to last forever but when it is a portrait session it seems like you are chasing after the sun saying don't go just yet!
I love it when couples are open to any ideas and then make them happen! Thanks guys for being carefree and fun!
I had a lot of fun and I hope they had fun too!

J saw some mom and me images in the magazine and thought this would be the perfect gift for mom! Why buy another purse when we can have these images to last a lifetime!
So she came on my site and saw my Mothers Day Special and booked immediately.
What a fun time this session was!! They were up for anything !!
This session will always put a smile on my face!! Love you guys!!!

Well I got a new lens a few weeks ago but just didn't have the time to work on it and see the power of it.
So I took Katie out the last few days and really gave it a work out while she gave me a work out.

The kids had a bookfair at school this week. What this is is the kids bring in books they are no longer reading and can trade them for new ones.
Well DS decided he wanted to take a pile of books to school and I thought he was being a bit greedy lol!!!
Well he came home yesterday afternoon and had a book for his sister, and one for his baby brother and one for his older brother and he even picked one out for me.
I was really touched by the thoughtfulness of my little guy!!
Here is a picture I took while practicing lighting outdoors in the evening!!
We went garage saling this morning and he picked out some spiderman gloves and so they of course are a part of the picture. My little spiderman hero!
